Christmas Light Installation in Hamilton, Montana

Hamilton is about 55 minutes south of Missoula and serves as the anchor stop on our Bitterroot route days, with Corvallis and Victor installs grouped on the same trip.

Hamilton is the biggest town in the Bitterroot and the far end of our route, and it has a wider mix of homes than anywhere else in the valley, from Victorian houses near the Daly Mansion to new construction on the benches toward Blodgett Canyon. Montana Lights is owned and operated by Constructive Brothers, a licensed and insured Missoula construction company, and we bring the full service to Hamilton. We supply commercial-grade LED lights cut to your house, design the layout on a free visit, install, maintain through the season, and take down and store in January.

Downtown Hamilton matters here in a way it does not in smaller valley towns. Main Street from the highway down toward the river is lined with brick storefronts and offices that stay busy through December, and a lit block pulls people in from the highway. We install commercial rooflines and window outlines on those buildings after hours, and we set the timers so the street is lit for the evening and off by midnight. On the residential side, Hamilton homes deal with the same valley wind and early snow as the rest of the Bitterroot, plus a lot of tall spruce and ponderosa in the older neighborhoods that need a lift to wrap properly.

Hamilton is about 55 minutes from Missoula, which is why we run it as the anchor stop on Bitterroot route days and group Corvallis and Victor installs around it. Most Hamilton homes come in between $900 and $2,500 for a first season and lower after that, since the strands are cut once and stored with us. Commercial quotes are itemized the same way. Lighting Homes in Hamilton: What We Plan For

Main Street storefronts

Hamilton's Main Street has the densest run of storefronts in the valley, and most of the buildings share walls and parapets. We outline parapets and window frames with commercial C9 and mini lights on a single timer per building, and we schedule the lift for early morning so parking and the sidewalk are open by the time shops open.

Older homes toward the Daly Mansion

The older neighborhoods on the east side of town toward the Daly Mansion have tall Victorian and craftsman homes with steep gables and wraparound porches, and mature spruce planted decades ago. Those houses look best with a restrained warm-white C9 line that follows every gable, and the spruce is worth wrapping, but only from a lift.

Blodgett Canyon wind

Wind pours out of Blodgett Canyon onto the west side of Hamilton, and homes on the benches there get hit harder than anything downtown. We clip every socket and keep strands tight to the fascia, and we avoid loose garland swags on the windward side, because a swag that whips all night is a repair call waiting to happen.

FAQs

Hamilton Questions

Do you do commercial holiday lighting on Hamilton's Main Street?
Yes, and it is some of our favorite work. We light storefronts and offices along Main Street and the cross streets with commercial-grade C9 rooflines and window outlines, installed before opening or after close so you never lose a parking spot to a lift during business hours. Maintenance through the season and takedown in January are included, and the strands are stored and reused so the second season costs less.
Can you light a house near the Daly Mansion with a lot of gables?
Yes. Complicated rooflines are where custom-cut C9 strands earn their keep. We measure every gable and eave on the design visit and cut the strands to fit so every peak is outlined without gaps or bunched-up wire at the corners. A tall Victorian with six or eight gables takes longer to install than a ranch, and that shows up honestly in the quote, but the result is what people slow down for.
How far past Hamilton do you go?
Hamilton is the south end of our regular Bitterroot route. We will look at homes a few minutes beyond town on the Eastside Highway or toward Grantsdale on a case-by-case basis, usually when they fit into an existing Hamilton route day. If you are farther south, call anyway. If we cannot make the schedule work we will tell you straight rather than leaving you hanging in November.
